Paste a story URL from a supported platform. Storywatch extracts the available story details and chapter list, adds the story to your library, and checks it for new chapters every hour. New chapters are flagged in your library so you can decide what to read next.

Which websites are supported?

Storywatch supports major homes for web fiction and fanfiction, including Royal Road, Archive of Our Own, FanFiction.net, Wattpad, SpaceBattles, Sufficient Velocity, and ScribbleHub. Platform coverage is expanding regularly. If a story URL is not accepted yet, tell us on Discord so we can investigate adding it.

Is Storywatch free?

Yes. Storywatch is free to use today and does not require a credit card. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, while keeping the core cross-platform tracking experience accessible.

Does Storywatch work on mobile?

Yes. The library, shelves, story pages, and activity feed work in a mobile browser. There is no native app yet, but you can track stories, review updates, and organize your library from your phone.

How often are stories checked for updates?

Storywatch schedules update checks every hour. When a new chapter is detected, the story receives an unread indicator in your library and appears in your activity feed.

Can I organize stories beyond tracking updates?

Yes. Use the built-in Reading, Plan to Read, On Hold, Dropped, and Completed states, then create custom shelves for genres, fandoms, priorities, or any other system that matches how you read.

What happens if a story moves or becomes unavailable?

If Storywatch can no longer reach a story, future checks may fail until the source becomes available again. The story remains in your library with its last known information. If the problem persists, share the story URL on Discord so we can investigate.

How is this different from bookmarks or spreadsheets?

Bookmarks save URLs but do not check for chapters or organize reading progress. Spreadsheets can span platforms but require manual upkeep. Storywatch combines a cross-platform library with scheduled chapter checks, reducing the maintenance needed to keep a reading list useful.

Not yet. For now, stories are added one URL at a time. Imports from other trackers are on the roadmap.

Is my reading data private?

Your shelves, tracked stories, and reading progress are private by default, and your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Planned public profiles and social features will be rolled out progressively.

You can create an account with email and password or sign in with Discord. Storywatch keeps the authentication flow separate from the public reading platforms you track.
